Vomiting in children


Vomiting is usually include problems directly involving the tummy or bowel, such because stomach flu or food intolerance, but also can occur in children for other causes. Some children will vomit from a high fever, and other people from emotional upsets. Some children have very strong gag reflexes; when they cough it can cause them to gag and than throw up. In these cases, there is nothing wrong with the waistline.

Stomach flu is a typical virus infection in small children. Usually the child come with listless, especially after vomiting. The vomiting is not away from coughing and often has an little warning. At the beginning of a stomach flu (also titled viral gastro-enteritis) the breastfeeding may vomit repeatedly and not be able to keep anything down. After a delay of 6 to 24 hours, diarrhea usually occurs. The vomiting is usually over after day one or so.

It is important to avoid dehydration which is dangerous and could be fatal. However, the vast majority of children cope with a stomach flu without dehydration or going near a professional or a hospital.

For most children who are healthy and well-nourished at that time flu starts, the risk of serious dehydration depends on excessive loss of fluid rather than a failure to take in fluids.

Any healthy daughter, even a baby, can safely go for up to 12 hours or more without drinking much, as long as there are no fluids being lost by throwing up, diarrhea or very obese and continuous sweating.

A child with gastro-enteritis will not likely keep much fluid down for an first 12 hours approximately, but parents should animal offering frequent small sips which flat ginger ale or diluted apple juice (a tbsp. every 15 min to improve start) and than gradually increase the amount as tolerated. Pediatric authorities recommend paying special 'rehydration' fluid for kids, which you can buy attending the drugstore.

  1. Lemon juice best and very effective home treatment for vomiting. Whenever feeling that I am going to vomit. Take one cup of water and add a few drops of lemon juice and half teaspoon sugar and a pinch of baking soda.
